If I were a oil exec, I would say sure, take away the subsidies if you will remove the effective 40% tax rate on my product. Subsidies are about government control of private business and for good ones it doesn’t have much effect. Our federal government needs to read and understand Art 1 Sec 8 of the constitution and retract back to that to solve the problem.
I love the satire here, the fact is some of this twists the truth but has some truth in it. There are greedy people everywhere. Most of them are on BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE in the Congress…. We need to fire our employees and hire new ones.

Welfare is a good thing when used as it was intended, problem we have a culture of entitlement in this country these days. There’s actually people in our society that believe the government owe them a living because they’re incapable due to something not easily definable but they’re owed just the same. Get out and vote America!
The US artificially inflates healthcare costs by limiting the supply of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, medical technicians, and available medications via FDA bureaucracy and Kefauver-Harris(see Erbitux). So they are paying above market rates for healthcare. If you want a free market, make it a free market, but don’t socialize just for one side, which is the current system.
With food, the government deliberately limits how much farmers may grow so the food prices are inflated.Hence the stamps

Divide that by 30,874,553 [the total of the lowest 20% of households] and add a generous 10% overhead, and each household gets in excess of $31K per year. That’s seriously not enough????

The Religious Right could give a DAMN about the health of society. That’s why they keep supporting sex “education” that increases STD’s and teen pregnancies instead of decreasing them. You want to help? Encourage teenagers to wait, and educate them on condoms. Those two things would make a BIG difference.
Why don’t the religious nuts show statistics demonstrating that abstinence-only education reduces children born out of wedlock? Because it DOESN’T EXIST. Study after study has proven that it INCREASES teen pregnancies and STD’s. And what about the gay student who is probably wondering how he’ll handle the “waiting for marriage” part, when in most states he cannot legally marry? The data is in: PRUDISH SEXUAL LAWS ARE A PUBLIC HEALTH HAZARD.

In theory, this is what public school does, but currently public education doesn’t prepare people to work a real job.

A chance at a free home and they’re complaining? I work, get nothing for free and I don’t make much money. I live in an ugly, crappy 60-year old house that I pay well over a $1000 a month for. I have cousins on welfare that live in brand new 2 story, 5 bedroom condos for $17 a month. On top of getting free medical, $700 a month in food stamps, etc..
No wonder BHO got elected the people are about a dumb as it gets.
